A water heater gives you control over your home's water temperature. However, traditional tank models can be large to house and wasteful with water. If you're looking for a better option, consider making the switch to a tankless water heater from CW Cummings Plumbing Co Inc.
A tankless water heater is designed to save you money and space. Explore the benefits for yourself.
Ultimately, these models save you time, money, and space. A tankless water heater can provide an endless supply of water on demand, and it will support multiple fixtures at the same time. If you want to take a shower while you run a load of laundry, it won't be a problem.
As for space, you can free up that spot in the basement once more. These are small units that are about the size of a suitcase. The average dimensions are 18.5 inches by 26 inches by 10 inches. Sometimes, the units are even smaller! Your water heater will be mounted on an interior or exterior wall, and you can put yours in a less traditional space like a crawlspace or attic for more flexibility.
All in all, there are many advantages to a tankless water heater. It's a great choice for any type of home, and the flexibility even works in manufactured or modular homes. Do you want to learn more? You can call CW Cummings Plumbing Co Inc at any time. You can even save on your purchase with same-as-cash financing for 18 months with 0% interest. Be sure to enter our vacation giveaway!
Before you make the switch to a tankless water heater, it's worth your time to understand how the system works. You can trust CW Cummings Plumbing Co Inc to support you with all your water heater needs!
When hot water is needed for a shower, washing machine, dishwasher, or faucet, cold water enters the unit. There is an inlet pipe at the bottom. At this point, the PC board activates the flame ignitor or ignition.
To light the flame, a combustion fan is used to move oxygen into the burner. This happens while the gas control valve opens at a low frequency. Once an adequate flame is present, the igniter stops sparking. This starts the next operation sequence within seconds.
At this point, water is heated as it passes through the coils in the copper heat exchanger. Then, it exits from the hot water outlet pipe to move throughout the property to the fixture in question. If you have a condensing model, the water may be preheated as it passes through a secondary stainless steel heat exchanger. This captures any extra or latent heat before it escapes into the vents.
To meet the water heating demands, a gas valve or blower will be used to automatically adjust the incoming oxygen and gas. With a small demand, the water heater will use a smaller flame with less gas. However, for larger demands, the flame can expand across the width of the whole burner. In this way, your tankless water heater adjusts as needed to maintain the right temperature with a digital controller.
When the hot water fixture is shut off, cold water will enter the tankless water heater. The flame will be diminished, and the combustion fan will continue to work at a low speed for a short period. This ensures any leftover combustion gases are vented.
That's how the tankless water heater saves you time, space, and money. Do you still have questions? Be sure to call the certified professionals at CW Cummings Plumbing Co Inc. We've served you since 1991!
